Flex HA Wafers Equine Joint Supplements - Majestys

Flex HA Wafers Equine Joint Supplements - Majestys

Recommended for support of bones, joints and cartilage. Know they are getting the right amount! These unique highly palatable wafers were developed by horse people for horse people who experience the difficulty and waste of supplementing with powders or liquids. Reprinted from the Horse Supplements Blog: “Majesty’s Flex HA Wafers joint supplements are proving popular with thoroughbred trainers in Northern California. The reason is simple, these wafers are a powerful, broad spectrum horse supplement containing Glucosamine, Chondroitin, MSM, Yucca, Ascorbic Acid, and Hyaluronic Acid. So just what do these active ingredients contribute? Glucosamine–Aids in slowing cartilage breakdown, lowers pain and inflammation, and promotes cartilage repair. Particularly effective when combined with its partner, chondroitin. Chondroitin–A positive but slow-acting repairer of cartilage and reduces pain. Synergistic effects magnified when combined with glucosamin. MSM–AKA methylsufonylmethane, significantly lowers pain and inflammation of joints. Yucca–Used for years by Native Americans to treat many maladies, yucca promotes blood circulation and aids in joint repair and healing. Ascorbic Acid–AKA Vitamin C, is effective in bolstering the immune system of horses and humans, alike. Since the number one joint killer is arthritis, an auto-immune disease, it makes sense the addition of Vitamin C to a horse’s diet will not only help his overall immune system, but could also help prevent the formation of arthritis in critical joint areas. Hyaluronic Acid–AKA HA is a very expensive component which makes any product containing this ingredient somewhat pricey. HA rapidly lowers pain and inflammation of the joints. This synthesized form of naturally occurring joint lubricating fluid is also present in the cartilage itself. Majesty’s Flex HA Wafers effectively combines all the above ingredients in a multigrain/fruit/molasses wafer that makes feeding a breeze. Simply open the resealable

MOUNTED EQUINE SEARCH & RESCUE

Posted on Aug 24, 2008 under Equine Horse World | No Comment

Horses have been used for hundreds of years to look for lost people. During the 1980’s and the 1990’ however, the practice came almost to a halt. Search and Rescue personnel determined that Off-Road Vehicles and actual searches by foot were more beneficial. They had not taken into consideration the value of the horse and its rider.

Thankfully, toward the end of the 90’s horses were re-introduced to the area of Search and Rescue.

A horse and its rider have a better and higher vantage point them someone walking or riding a quad.

Horses are quite and the rider can holler out the name of the lost person and listen for a reply.

The rider and horse can travel three times or more the distance than someone walking and can converse tougher terrain.

Horses have extra sensitive hearing and smell capabilities. If the rider understands and watches his mount, the horse by the movement of its head, the direction of his looks and the pointing of his ears can alert the rider to lost people in its area. Snorting by the horse will also alert the rider to people or evidence objects that are located close by.

For search and rescue missions the horse can help to evacuate victims, move foreign objects blocking trails and pack supplies into overnight camps.

The Mounted Equine used for Search and Rescue, with their rider, go through rigoress training to make them familiar with all types of hazards and obstacles.

Hoses are once again a very important and valuable resource on all search and rescue missions.

Horse Sense Insight for Today's World

Horse Sense - Sound Practical Judgment In Life D.J. Shrewsbury’s first book “Getting A Miracle - Light Covering Darkness” has touched many reader’s lives. His second book “HORSE SENSE FOR TODAY’S WORLD” presents the logic of God’s Word concerning world events. This book explores through Biblical truths the condition of today’s humanity. Mixing scripture, humor, and story poetry it excels in understanding the simplicity of the spiritual. Look what others have said about David’s writings: Christians used to be the leaders in the arts. The great Baroque and Classical composers, writers and artists used their gifts to present a strong Christian message. It is great to see the resurgence of Christian artists, musicians and writers today. David is a poet and uses his gift to glorify God. What flows from his heart will minister to many that read this book. Doug Martin, President/GM, Good News Radio Broadcasting, KVOI/KGMS/KLTU/KNXN/KAPR/KJAA Today’s world needs all the hor

Equine Horse World

We went out on a great ride the yesterday. Where I lived there are lots of beautiful desert mountains. This is one of the reasons why I train my horses for mountain trails. The steep trails teach the horses to pick their way down steep mountain terrain and switchbacks. It’s part of the upper Desert near Palm Springs California. I’m 16 miles from Palm Springs. Right near the Pacific Crest Trail. You can ride form California to Oregon. So they say. Not me .

We started from my 30 acre ranch and rode up and over to Mission Creek approximately a 2-hour ride. There were about 8 of us on this ride; some with experience and some not. Some of them I had just met… This really wasn’t a ride for the faint at heart.

Once we got down to the bottom of the creek it was just beautiful with the cottonwood trees, and the leaves were blowing in the wind and the water in the stream flowing. We decided to let our horses have a drink of water and we played in the water with them.

Well, one of the horses didn’t want anything to with the water and started bucking and dumped the rider. We call that the “rodeo thing”, even though we don’t do rodeo. She was a little startled but got right back on that horse and tried it again.

Toby, her horse, was not going to have anything to do with that water. She worked him and worked him. Finally about an hour later through pure exhaustion, Toby went in the water.

This really was not the spot to start training your horse for water, but we all watched and ate our lunch while she water trained her horse.

By this time it was about 3:00 p.m., and knowing we had 2 hours to get back home before dark, we decided to head back up the hill and go home. Toby was so darn tired he would never have made that climb. So we headed toward the Highway thinking it was not that far. We rode a good 10 miles to the highway and

we had to go under a bridge and get to the other side of the highway and head up the highway pass that brought us back to my ranch.

The moral of this story is…. know who you’re riding with.
This ride ended as an 8 hour ride. I was pooped, to say the least. But Toby was fine and that was the main thing.
Thanks for stopping by equine horse blog.

Here’s a little History of the Pacific Crest Trail We are 2 on the Map.

The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) spans 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada through three western states. It reveals the beauty of the desert, unfolds the glaciated expanses of the Sierra Nevada, and provides commanding vistas of volcanic peaks and glaciers in the Cascade Range. The trail also passes through historic mining sites and evidence of man’s endless quest for natural resources.

Thousands of hikers and equestrians enjoy this national treasure each year. Some only travel a few miles, while others complete every mile in a single season!

The route was first explored in the late 1930s by teams of young men from the YMCA. Once proven feasible, trail pioneers Clinton Clarke and Warren Rogers lobbied the federal government to secure a border-to-border trail corridor. They had to settle, however, for several disconnected trails along the crest of each state. Largely through the efforts of hikers and equestrians, the PCT was eventually designated one of the first scenic trails in the National Trails System authorized by Congress in 1968, and was dedicated in 1993.

The PCT has five distinct sections, each having unique climate, geology, flora, and fauna. These sections are: Southern California, Central California, Northern California, Oregon, and Washington. A trail description is presented on the following pages in the order of the seasons in which each is at its optimum. The Pacific Crest Trail Association is an excellent source of information for anyone planning a trip on the PCT.
